Preliminary results indicate that we will not advance to the general election in November.

I have reached out to congratulate Cassi Sung and Sally McCarthy, the two candidates moving forward.

Truthfully, I’m disappointed. Not for me— for the kids. 37% math proficiency. Guns on campus. Parents kept at arm’s length. Crumbling infrastructure. Frustrated teachers. Wasted money. A corrosive lack of transparency. I’ve been saying it for months, and I’ll say it once more: none of this should be possible in one of the wealthiest counties in America. We have the money. We have the resources. We have the talent. There is no excuse.

The campaign may be ending, but the challenges remain. I hope the two advancing candidates will address them with the urgency they require, and I sincerely wish them success on behalf of our students, families, and educators.
